You should print out the pictures of your favorite dresses and bring them to the store with you.  Please do not bring only style numbers as this will increase wait times in the fitting rooms.

Let's face it, no one is the perfect model size. That means prom dress alterations which may be time consuming are a necessary part of purchasing any prom dress if you want it to look perfect on you  Taking the dress in or out: We highly suggest ordering bigger and taking in the dress. Whether you take the dress in 1" or 5" it is normally still the same price and it will look the same. However, if you have to let out a dress a few things may occur: 1) the fabric let out may contain pin holes 2) the extra seam allowance the designers normally leave in each dress may have been cut, and there may not be enough material to let it out.

Garters were brought into fashion by wealthy men to hold up their socks. Although the history of the garters is not very glamorous or lady-like, the garter then went on to be used by brides on their wedding day. The groom had the privilege of taking off the brides garter and passing it on to a guest. This symbolized the groom taking the innocence away from his bride. The male guest who caught the bride was said to be the next male to marry. Prom garters on the other hand, are generally satin made to match the color of their prom dress, prom shoes, prom handbag, prom gloves, and sometimes even prom makeup. The garter is also designed with an innocent (black, white, or ivory) lace ruffle around the bottom of it. The garter is given as a gift to the prom girl's date in exchange for his bowtie symbolizing a remembrance of their prom date together.
